[ARCHIVED] Riverside Drive paving may resume Thursday

Rock work sign

Milling and paving on the westbound lanes of Riverside Drive is expected to resume on Thursday, weather permitting. Crews were unable to work Tuesday on the project due to cold temperatures, and they will be unable to work Wednesday if it rains and snows as forecast.

All lanes currently are open except for a milled lane from Camelot Court in front of Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center to Central Boulevard. The milled lane will remain closed to traffic until paved.

The intersection at Riverside Drive and Piney Forest Road is open, but motorists should slow down as they cross the intersection because the milling has created uneven pavement.

If weather permits on Thursday, milling will resume on the left westbound lane from the current point to Westover Drive. This lane also will be paved on Thursday.

On Friday, the right westbound lane will be milled and paved from Camelot Court to Westover Drive.

On Monday and Tuesday, the turn lanes, intersections and crossovers will be milled and paved.

Motorists should expect delays and are urged to slow down and be alert to altered traffic patterns or consider an alternate route.
