Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire located at 1160 Piney Forest Rd. Upon arrival crews found a two story structure with heavy fire showing from two sides of the structure. It was quickly determined that everyone was out of the structure. Crews attacked the fire that had extended to both floors as well as the attic. The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. Three engines, one ladder truck, a safety officer and a Battalion Chief responded to the initial alarm. No injuries were reported however one adult and seven children were displaced due to extensive damage. The Red Cross assisted in providing shelter for the victims. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the fire marshals office. Crews were on the scene for about three hours.
