Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 115 W. Thomas St at 12:43 am. Units arrived to find fire showing from a basement window and heavy smoke throughout the structure. All occupants were out of the structure at the time of arrival. Crews made an interior attack and extinguished the fire in the basement. The house received moderate fire damage to the basement and heavy smoke damage throughout the structure. Four occupants were displaced and the Red Cross assisted with providing them with a place to stay. Units were on the scene for about an hour and a half. Units responding consisted of three engines, one ladder truck, a safety officer and one chief officer. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking.
