With George Washington High School graduation ceremonies set for Saturday morning at Averett University’s north campus, the Danville Police Department reminds motorists to expect heavy traffic in the area.
The ceremony is scheduled at 10 a.m. at the E. Stuart James Grant Athletic & Convocation Center at the North Campus, 707 Mount Cross Road. Guests attending have been instructed to arrive one hour prior to the event.
Heavy traffic along Mount Cross Road, as well as Piedmont Drive, Riverside Drive and Westover Drive, is expected prior to and following the graduation, police said on Thursday.
Motorists are advised to slow down and proceed with caution and allow ample time to reach their destination.
