Danville Police Major Chris Wiles recently attended and graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy. The ten week academy held at Quantico, Virginia was the 272nd Session and hosted law enforcement leaders from 48 states, the District of Columbia, international countries, military and federal civilian organizations.
Wiles is the 15th officer from the Danville Police Department to attend the academy starting with Ural Watson in 1941, who attended FBINA Session 17
The FBI National Academy began in 1935 and boasts a total of 51,042 graduates since its inception.
The FBINA is well renowned for its focus on advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training with most attendees having 21 years or more law enforcement experience prior to attending. The vast majority of graduates return to their respective agencies to serve in executive leadership roles.
