The Police Department today kicked off its inaugural Youth Engagement Academy at Langston Focus School. Forty children, ages 10 to 16, are participating. The three-week academy will provide an opportunity for positive engagement between the children and police.
Guest speakers will deliver inspirational stories and messages, and the academy will feature daily activities, including lessons in interacting with police and a health and wellness boot camp.
At the end of the academy, a graduation ceremony will be held.
