At approximately 9:00 p.m., the Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 18 Noel Avenue. The first arriving engine company found a small one story home with no smoke ore fire visible. Upon further investigation, the same company found smoke and fire located at the rear of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished as well as being contained to the kitchen. There were six family members at home when the fire occurred, however there were no injuries. All six occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross tonight. The Danville Fire Department responded 16 personnel with three engines, one ladder truck, one safety officer, and one command vehicle. The Danville Life Saving Crew was on scene with three personnel and an ambulance as well as the Danville Police Department. The fire was caused by unattended cooking. The Danville Fire Department would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone who is cooking to please stay in the kitchen and monitor all avenues of cooking closely to prevent any occurrence of fire.
