Danville Transit today resumed fixed route bus service along Patton Street, which reopened Tuesday to through traffic.
Certain bus routes had been detoured and a temporary bus stop at South Ridge and Patton streets established during the Patton Street storm water drainage project, which began last October.
The buses no longer are being detoured and the temporary bus stop has been discontinued.
Patton Street, as well as South Union and Market streets, were reopened to through traffic on Tuesday following completion of paving.
The storm water project rerouted storm water drainage from a partially blocked culvert located between South Union and South Market streets into a new storm drain installed along Patton Street in front of the Municipal Building and the James F. Ingram Justice Center (courthouse).
The new drainage system connects to the previously existing system located in South Union Street and in Patton Street, close to Craghead Street.
