[ARCHIVED] Library to begin ‘Supplies for Fines’ campaign

Exterior photo of main branch of the Danville Public Library

Pay it forward this school year and clear your library fines by participating in the Danville Public Library's "Supplies for Fines" program. For every new, unopened donation brought into the Danville Public Library, the library will waive $2 from current fines up to $50 per library account.

This year's program will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 1, and will run through Friday, Aug. 31.

All donations will support elementary schools in the Danville Public Schools system. The library will only accept donations that are new, undamaged, and unopened. For a full list of acceptable donations, please visit the Danville Public Library website — www.readdanvilleva.org  — or Facebook page — www.facebook.com/DanvilleVAPublicLibrary/.

Supplies for Fines presents an excellent opportunity for residents to give back to the community and take advantage of the free programs that the library offers, such as online learning databases, genealogy resources, computer classes, children and adult programming and much more.

Bring your library account back into good standing and help your community. Items can be donated at the Danville Public Library's Main Branch during business hours or to our Westover Branch location. Please visit www.readdanvilleva.org or call 434-799-5195 for more information.
