The Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a large brush fire that was possibly threatening several trailers at 180 Lamberth Drive on September 6th at 10:57 pm. Engine 6 arrived two minutes later to find a single-wide trailer heavily involved in fire. The fire was not threatening any other structures. The trailer was abandoned and was in the process of being demolished. Engine 6 pulled an attack line and controlled the fire. Due to rough road conditions, no other engines traveled down the dirt road. The DFD used a brush truck and a 1250 gallon tanker to supply water to Engine 6. 15 personnel responded on three engines and two support vehicles along with the tanker and brush truck. DFD units remained on scene for nearly two hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The DFD was assisted by the Danville Police Department and the Danville Life Saving Crew.
