The Small Business Administration’s Disaster Loan Outreach Center today entered its final week in Danville to assist businesses and residents affected by Tropical Storm Michael from Oct. 10 to Oct. 15.

The center is located at 515 Main St. The hours of operation are as follows:

  • Monday, Nov. 26: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 27: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 28: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 29: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 30: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At the center, the SBA’s customer service representatives are on hand to answer questions about the disaster loan program and to assist in completion of applications. The program assists businesses of all sizes, non-profit organizations, homeowners and renters with federal disaster loans. The long-term, low-interest loans can be used to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, inventory and business assets damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster.

In addition to applying at the center, application can be made online at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. The application deadline for physical damages is Jan. 14.

Call the SBA Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 for more information.

The SBA opened outreach centers on Nov. 15 in Danville and Salem. The center in Salem closed on Nov. 20, but the SBA extended the Danville operation.

In addition to the two cities, the centers have served the adjacent counties of Pittsylvania and Roanoke and Roanoke City in Virginia; and Caswell County in North Carolina. To date, 93 applications have been received.
