Danville Police officers walked door-to-door Thursday evening in the Windsor Heights neighborhood. The walk was the first of the year and the department’s 12th since these events began.
They talked with residents about their needs and how the Police Department can make their neighborhood a safer and better place.
The walk began at 4 p.m., with officers dividing into two teams.
The community engagement walks serve as a platform to build public trust and develop positive relationships between officers and community members. Previous walks have been held in the following neighborhoods: Cardinal Village, G.L.H. Johnson Elementary School, Old West End, Woodrow Wilson school, Almagro, Woodside Village Apartments, Cedarbrook, Henry Street, White Rock and Druid Hills.
