[ARCHIVED] Small Fire on Knollwood Terrace

The Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire at 128 Knollwood Terrace at 9:14 pm on March 8, 2019. E2 arrived on the scene and advised light smoke was showing from the front door. Occupants advised everyone was outside and the fire in the bedroom had been controlled with a fire extinguisher located in the house. The investigation found charred bedding materials on a bed and a small amount of charring on one wall. The bedding material was moved outside the house and smoke was removed from the house. The investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office and the Danville Police Department confirmed the fire was started by a juvenile at the house. The juvenile was taken into custody.

There were no injuries and the occupants were able to return to the residence. Damage was listed as $1100 to house contents and $100 to the structure. The DFD responded with three engines, one ladder, safety officer, battalion chief, and a fire marshal. 18 personnel responded to the incident. The DFD was assisted by the DPD and the Danville Life Saving Crew. Apparatus remained on scene for approximately one hour.
