03-14-2019 Updated with the Ladreka Brandon's booking photo

The Danville Police Department has charged three people in connection with the homicide of a 17-year-old that took place this past Sunday on Arnett Blvd.  Investigators and additional officers worked in shifts around the clock since the homicide took place.  Police combed through hours of surveillance and interviewed numerous people. Investigators identified a suspect vehicle through video surveillance.  Police located that vehicle, searched it, and identified several occupants.  As the case continued to unfold, investigators developed information that led to three people being  charged with (1) count each of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder.  The three people charged are:

  • Ladreka Shawnta Brandon, Age 33
  • Antonio Lamonta Burton, Age 21
  • Justin Montel Jones, Age 20

VA State Code 18.2/18.2-32 Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder

All three individuals are Danville residents.  Ladreka Brandon and Antonio Burton have been arrested.  Justin Jones remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous (pictured to the left in the lime shirt in the release).

This release will be updated with a booking photo of Brandon when it becomes available.

Police are no longer looking for O’Bryan Daquan King for the shooting on that took place on Juless St.  He has not been located however, police discovered evidence that contradicted the witness information from the day of the shooting.  Therefore, investigators contacted the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to request that King’s charge be withdrawn.

Due to the ongoing nature of these cases, and the fact that investigators are still following up on active leads, no further information will be released at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Danville Crime Stoppers at (434) 793-0000, or via our crime tips line at crimetips@danvilleva.gov. Information given will remain confidential
