Due to capacity constraints, registration is closed for the free airplane rides to be provided to children ages 8 to 17 as part of the Danville Regional Airport Open House and Young Eagles Rally scheduled on June 22.
However, parents can presently register children for free plane rides at other regional events in North Carolina by visiting www.youngeaglesday.com.
The open house and rally are being held to promote aviation awareness.
Young Eagle rallies are held nationwide by local aircraft chapters. Danville Regional Airport has hosted Young Eagles rallies in the past. During the last event in Danville, approximately 200 children received free rides.
