Motorists who use the Danville Expressway/US 29 Bypass over Barkers Branch near the Dan River in the City of Danville should expect another change in traffic pattern this week, weather permitting.
North- and southbound traffic have been using the southbound lanes while repairs have been underway and the northbound lanes closed.
Paving on the northbound lanes is complete. Pavement marking and guardrail installation will be complete before northbound traffic returns to one northbound lane and southbound traffic continues in one southbound lane. These single lanes will be in place until the temporary crossovers, curbing and barrier walls are removed, clean up complete and repairs to the southbound bridge made.
Signs and other traffic control devices will alert motorists to the changes in the traffic pattern. All exits will be open.
