Music on Main Logo

Danville Parks and Recreation’s Music on Main concert series will continue in the River District at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, with the bluegrass sounds of the Jus Cauz Band.

The outdoor concert is free and will be held in the Main Street Plaza at 111 Main St., adjacent to the JTI Fountain. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

From Danville, the Jus' Cauz Bluegrass Band is one of the most popular bands in south-central and southwestern Virginia. In 2014, the band Jus’ Cauz was named the South Carolina State Band Champion. The quintet features Mark Hudson on guitar and vocals, David Lewis on mandolin and vocals, Jason Flinchum on bass, Mark Wallace on banjo and vocals, and special guest fiddler Tim Martin. A blend of tight harmonies and skillful musicianship, the band showcases their musical and songwriting abilities while acknowledging their traditional folk, bluegrass, and gospel roots.

The Music on Main series is in its sixth year and takes place on the second and fourth Thursday of the month June through August. All shows start at 6:30 p.m. and are held at the Main Street Plaza.

In the event of rain, concerts will be moved to the Carrington Pavilion, which is located at 667 Craghead St.

The remaining shows in the series are:

  • August 8 – Define Jazz; jazz
  • August 22 – Rivermist Band; classic rock and variety sponsored by Planet Fitness

The Main Street Plaza parking lot will close at 2 p.m. on each day there is a show.
