[ARCHIVED] Library to begin ‘Supplies for Fines’ campaign

Ruby B. Archie Public Library sign outside building entrance

Pay it forward this year and clear your library fines at the same time by participating in Danville Public Library's Supplies for Fines program. For every donation of new, unopened school supplies, the library will waive $2 from current fines up to $50 per library account.

This year's program will begin on Aug. 1 and will run through the end of the month. All donations will support Danville Public Elementary Schools. The library will only accept donations that are new, undamaged, and unopened. For a full list of acceptable donations, please visit ReadDanvilleva.org or Facebook.com/DanvilleVAPublicLibrary.

Supplies for Fines presents an excellent opportunity for residents to give back to the community and take advantage of the free programs that the library offers, such as online learning databases, genealogy resources, computer classes, as well as children and adult programming and much more.

Items can be donated at either the Ruby B. Archie or Westover Branch locations during regular business hours. Please visit www.readdanvilleva.org or call 434-799-5195 for more information.
