The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 352 Seminole Trail this evening at 7:28 pm. First arriving crews found smoke coming from the roof of a two story apartment building. Upon further investigation crews found moderate fire and smoke throughout several apartments. A second and third alarm was activated due to the amount of fire and size of the apartment building. Crews worked to find heavy fire throughout the center of the apartment building and quickly extinguished fire in several compartments throughout complex. A search was completed of the complex and all occupants were accounted for.
After extensive overhaul to check for hot spots the fire was declared out and all units returned to service at approximately 11:07pm. The apartment complex sustained heavy fire and smoke damage throughout and structure was condemned by the Fire Marshall's office. Occupants of the apartment building are being assisted by The American Red Cross or placed in the care of family members
The Danville Fire Department responded with 5 Engines, 1 Ladder, 1 Air Unit/ safety, 1 support vehicle.and four command units. Also responding was the Fire Marshall's office. The cause of the fire is still under investigation
