Danville Parks and Recreation’s Music on Main concert series will conclude for this year at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, with the classic rock and variety party sounds of the Rivermist band. This final concert will be a two-hour performance.

Rivermist was formed in July 2014 in Fayetteville, NC. The band is a collaboration of musicians that have been playing in and around the Fayetteville area for more than 20 years. The band was voted 2016 Best Local Band by “Fayetteville Observer’s Reader’s Choice.”

Also, it was voted 2017 Best Local Band by “Up And Coming Magazine.”

The Music on Main series is in its sixth year and takes place on the second and fourth Thursday of the month June through August. All shows start at 6:30 p.m. and are held at the Main Street Plaza.

In the event of rain, concerts will be moved to the Carrington Pavilion, which is located at 667 Craghead St.

The Main Street Plaza parking lot will close at 2 p.m. on each day there is a show.
