The Danville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1603 Halifax Road this morning at 7:38 am. The first arriving engine reported light smoke showing from both ends of the roof line. The fire was located near the middle of the interior of the building. A couple sets of cabinets and a table saw were on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished. The fire damage was confined to that area. Smoke and water damage was minimal. The Fire Marshal’s Office investigated and found the cause to be accidental.
A citizen driving by the business saw the smoke and called 911. This quick action kept the fire from being much worse. The business will be able to open as normal today.
The DFD responded with three engines, one ladder, one safety officer, a chief officer, and two members of the Fire Marshal’s Office. A total of 17 personnel remained on scene for one hour and twenty minutes.
