In response to President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency and Governor Northam’s declaration of a state emergency related to the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus crisis, Danville Mayor Alonzo Jones has decided to cancel the Tuesday, March 17, City Council meeting. All items on this agenda will be placed on the April 7 agenda.
“The decision by Governor Northam to close schools for two weeks in order to slow the spread of the virus has led me to make this decision,” Jones said. “The health of the general public is my priority and avoiding close contact in group meetings is something we can do to make a difference.”
