[ARCHIVED] Police welcome aboard two new chaplains

chaplains

The Danville Police Department has sworn in Ernest Coppage and Scott Spalding to its Chaplain Unit.

Coppage and Spalding join Senior Chaplain G.H. Vaughan. Danville Police Department chaplains serve on a volunteer basis and their mission is to provide counseling or emotional support to members of the department and their families and members of the public.

The department recruits chaplains on an ongoing basis. A primary qualification for participation in the application process should be an interest in and an ability to assist the department in serving the public.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about becoming a chaplain with the department can contact the Services Division Training Section at 434-799-6520 Option 4.
