Yesterday evening a suspicious device was located outside of Piedmont Mall and was later determined to be safe
At approximately 8:00 pm yesterday evening Danville Police responded to a report of a suspicious device found in an exterior trash can near Sears in Piedmont Mall.
Members of the Virginia State Police Bomb Disposal Unit rendered the device safe just after midnight and found that it did not contain explosives. The device was determined to be a portable battery jump starter.
