At 2:49 am The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 243 Epps St. Upon arrival units found a detached garage fully involved with a single story residential structure being threatened. Crews immediately evacuated occupants from the residential structure and began to protect that structure. Additional crews pulled additional attack line and started extinguishment of the garage. The garage was a total loss and the residential structure received damage to the exterior. No fire extended into the residence and is still inhabitable. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was undetermined. Three engines, one ladder truck, a safety officer and a chief officer were on scene for two hours.
