The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1390 Piney Forest Rd at 10:40 am this morning. Upon arrival crews encountered heavy fire and smoke coming from a second floor motel room. Crews were able to evacuate all occupants without any reported injuries, while other crews attacked the fire. One room on the second floor received extensive damage with the two rooms on either side receiving smoke and heat damage. Three engines, one ladder , a safety officer, two fire Marshalls and a Battalion Chief were on scene for approximately an hour and a half. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Danville Fire Department Fire Marshall's office.
