The Danville Fire Department responded to a report of a fire on Goodyear Blvd. just off Industrial Ave. Apparatus arriving at 8:29 pm could see the fire before turning on Goodyear Blvd. The fire was the main building in the fenced in area belonging to Danville Tree Care. Heavy fire was coming through the roof of a 30' x 70' one-story building. Due to the amount of fire in the building, it was decided not to enter the building to fight fire. Ladder 1 was set up and the aerial waterway was used to extinguish the fire. A handline was also used to extinguish spot fires around the building.
16 DFD personnel remained on scene for a little over two hours. The building and contents were a total loss. The Fire Marshal's Office will investigate the cause. No rolling equipment outside the building was damaged by the fire.
