[ARCHIVED] Crews make progress on restoring power

MONDAY EVENING UPDATE: Utility crews made significant progress today. Danville Utilities crews were joined by crews from a fourth N.C. city. Crews are finished repairing primary lines and now are moving into areas with smaller outages. These outages are scattered.

Crews today also focused on pole replacement, but several remain to be replaced. Approximately 600 customers currently are without power.

MONDAY MORNING UPDATE

Crews overnight were able to restore power to about 800 customers. Approximately 1,200 customers remain without power. Today, crews will continue to focus on repairing primary lines and replacing broken poles, which will restore power to the greatest number of customers in the shortest time. After lines are repaired and poles replaced, crews are assigned to areas with fewer outages.
