The Danville Fire Department responded to a Structure Fire with the possibility of a victim trapped inside on 5-27-2021 at 913am. The house is located on Fairfield Ave on the south side of town. Engine 4, from the West Main St Station, was first to arrive on the scene and reported fire showing from the front window. Search and rescue operations were immediately started as well as a fire attack. The victim was located and removed from the structure and transported to the SOVAH health by Danville Life Saving Crew. The fire was also knocked down very quickly. There was moderate damage to the home.
All firefighters on scene did exceptional work while working in the heat. No firefighter injuries reported.
The Danville Fire Department responded with Four engines, one ladder truck, one safety officer and a command unit and several Chief officers. A second alarm engine was initially dispatched due to the report of a victim being trapped.
Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Police Department, Danville Power and Light and Danville Water and Gas assisted on the scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Danville Fire Marshals office.
