Danville Fire Department Responds to a reported structure fire at 130 East Thomas St. Upon arrival crews encountered two residential structures on fire at both 130 and 126 East Thomas St. Neighbors reported that the residence located at 126 was occupied. Crews began to search for any potential victims while other crews began an interior attack on both structures. There were no victims inside of either structure. The fires were extinguished and no injuries were reported but one dog perished in the fire. The Danville Fire Department Fire Marshall determined the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature. The fire started in the structure located at 126 East Thomas St and extended to the structure at 130 East Thomas St. The residence at 126 received heavy fire damage with 130 receiving damage to the exterior right side wall and roof structure.
The Red Cross is assisting with shelter for two families. The Danville Fire Department responded with four engines, one ladder truck, one Safety Officer, one Command Unit and one Fire Marshall. Also, Danville Police Officers, Danville Life Saving Crew Units, Danville Power & Light, and Water and Gas Departments were on scene for assistance.
