The Danville Fire Department Responded to a reported structure fire at 100 Hayes Ct. off Westover Dr. at approximately 9:30 am this morning. Units arrived to find a single story residence with smoke showing from all sides and the roof. Crews were quickly met by the occupants and advised that everyone was out of the structure. After assessing the structure crews made entry into the structure where they were able to locate a fire in the basement of the residence. Crews extinguished the fire and began removing smoke from the residence. Three adults were displaced as a result of the fire damage in the basement and heavy smoke damage on the main floor. The Red Cross helped with temporary shelter for the occupants. The Danville Police Department, Danville Life Saving Crew and City Utilities assisted. Four engines, one ladder truck, a safety officer and a Chief officer responded. The Danville Fire Departments Fire Marshall's officer determined the cause of the fire to be improper use of electrical equipment.
