[ARCHIVED] Library hosting donation December amnesty program

Ruby B. Archie Public Library staff will host the Donation December amnesty program through Jan. 7, offering patrons with negative balances the opportunity to give back to the community while reducing the amount of money owed.

During the program, patrons may donate new, undamaged, and unopened toiletry items at either service desk in the library located at 511 Patton Street. For everyone item donated, staff will waive $2 in fees up to $50 per library account. All donated items will support participants in the Danville Department of Social Services foster care program.

Acceptable items include baby wipes, bar soap, body wash, deodorant, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and shampoo. Travel-sized items will be accepted; however, any item marked free or promotional will not.

For more information, call 434-799-5195 or visit www.readdanvilleva.org.
