A 46-year-old Danville woman was stabbed at approximately 10:40AM at a residence in the 1000 block of Paxton Street. The victim had what appeared to be serious injuries to the head, was treated at SOVAH Danville emergency room, then flown out for further treatment at another medical facility. As of this release she is in good condition and expected to recover.
44-year-old Danville resident Dennis Carl Randle Jr was developed as the suspect. Randle was the estranged boyfriend of the victim, and this was a targeted attack. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and investigative efforts were made to locate Randle throughout the day and early evening. Investigators tracked and located Randle at approximately 8:00PM. He was arrested without further incident.
Dennis Carl Randle Jr was processed for aggravated malicious wounding in violation of VA Code 18.2- 51.2 and is being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.
