On June 12, 2022, at approximately 5:30AM, the Danville Police Department responded to a shooting incident at the W building of the apartments located at 1321 Piney Forest Rd. A 23-year-old Danville man was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was then transported for medical care.
The investigation continued and a suspect was identified. The Danville Police Department charged 20-year-old Joshua Emmanuel Singletary with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and reckless handling of a firearm from this incident. Investigators worked with law enforcement partners to track Mr. Singletary’s locations, as it was suspected he fled the Danville area. Authorities in Conover, North Carolina located and arrested Joshua Singletary on the evening of June 13, 2022.
The Danville Police Department would like to thank the law enforcement partners who moved quickly to apprehend Mr. Singletary.
Joshua Singletary will be extradited back to Danville to stand trial pending his legal matters in North Carolina.
The victim in this case is in stable condition.
