On Saturday, July 23, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Project Imagine will hold an open house at its new facility, which is called “The Haven” and is located at 128 Third Ave. The event will feature a water slide, games and more activities for youths. Back-to-school supplies will be distributed as long as supplies last.
“The Haven” will be home to classes offered through Project Imagine as well as a new studio space for the launch of its cognitive creations program. Staff also will be located at the facility to work with members from the community on a daily basis.
Project Imagine is a community violence intervention collaborative for ages 21 and under. It provides at-risk and gang-affiliated individuals opportunities for success through multiple resources. The program started in 2018 with the aim of creating a positive "image" in the youth’s mind so that he or she can "imagine" a life without gangs or crime.
