The Police Department is hosting its annual National Night Out from 5:30 p.m.to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, with the opening ceremony being held in the Westmoreland neighborhood.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. The event enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, while bringing back a true sense of community.
Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Local officials will be visiting a few of the locations.
- 5:30 pm: Westmoreland on 540 Gay Street: The Opening Ceremony
- 6:30 pm: Southwych Grove Park Shelter on Southland Drive
- 7:00 pm: Slade Building 135 Jones Crossing
