The Danville Fire Department responded to 614 Audubon Dr. (Woodberry Hills Elementary School) at 11:47 Am for a reported structure fire. The DFD responded with 3 engines, 1 ladder truck, 1 support unit and 1 command unit consisting of 16 personnel. E2 (Piney Forest) arrived within four minutes of being dispatched to find heavy fire and smoke located on the rear corner with fire extension into the building. DFD crews made an interior attack on the fire with a quick knockdown and other units searched the interior of the school to verify that no one was occupying the building. Ladder 1 placed the aerial in use to check the roof for any fire extension and found none. The Danville Fire Department was assisted on scene by Danville Police Dept., Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Electric Dept., Danville Water & Gas and Danville School maintenance. DFD Fire Marshal's Office and Danville PD Crime Scene are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported to fire personnel.
