The man struck by a Norfolk Southern Railway train yesterday evening died this morning.
At approximately 10:40 am today General Redd, age 72 of Danville was pronounced dead by medical personnel at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was transferred there yesterday evening after receiving initial treatment at Danville Regional Medical Center. His body was sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke for an autopsy.
The investigation is continuing.
